Samson Events based in Los Angeles, CA, was founded over a decade ago by Elliott Samson, a touring drummer with a deep passion for audio. From the beginning, his goal was to bring the clarity, balance, and precision of the recording studio into the live environment making sure every element sits perfectly in the mix.
Over the years, that vision has carried the company into the corporate and live event space, where Samson Events now supports much larger clients with full-scale audio, visual, and lighting production. While the scale has grown, the core principle remains the same: deliver a high-quality, seamless, and immersive experience for every client.
Elliott’s very first speakers were a pair of original QSC K12 powered loudspeakers. Today, our company owns more than 40 QSC powered speakers, and those original K12’s are still going strong. We’ve since grown into a full-service sound and lighting event production company, but that commitment to clean quality detailed live sound is still the core of what we do.

Today, we are a Live Event Production company serving corporate and private clients across Los Angeles and the SoCal area. We provide audio, lighting, projection, LED wall, and camera services for immersive, high-end events. We are passionate about creating the best experiences for our clients and their guests. Our team has also expanded with Mary joined the company 5 years ago as the Director of Operations, playing a key role in the operations and client experience. Rachel has also joined the team and is the logistics guru making sure everything gets where it needs to be. We also have over 20 super talented Audio, Lighting, and Projection Engineers that are an invaluable part of the team!
We recently caught up with Samson Events Director of Operations, Mary Tucker, to ask a few questions about how and why they use QSC products for their events.
What QSC products does Samson Events use and why?
We use the full range of the QSC Products from the K8’s to LA112’s, and each speaker in our arsenal has a purpose and a place.
We find the K10.2 to be the most versatile speaker; we send a pair on almost every event. The K10.2 is a great speaker that can output more than you would expect, and the low-end is impressive all in a very portable package. It also has a great horizontal wide coverage (wider than the K12.2) and makes a great stage monitor. In a pinch the K10.2 can basically do it all.

The KC12 (K Column) have quickly become one of our favorite go-to speakers, especially for our high-end clients who care just as much about aesthetics as sound quality. The discreet, sleek look blends seamlessly into almost any environment, and clients are now specifically asking for “those white column speakers” by name.
Performance-wise, the output and clarity are excellent. The super-wide horizontal coverage paired with the narrow vertical dispersion has been a huge advantage in challenging spaces with lots of hard, reflective surfaces. We’ve had great results in gyms, museums, galleries, and other echo-prone environments where traditional speakers would create too much wash. The K Column lets us deliver clean, even sound without overwhelming the room.
For larger-scale events, we rely on the QSC LA108 and LA112 line arrays. The LA108 is incredibly clean and articulate. It is perfect for events that require both speech intelligibility and musicality. The size and wide dispersion of the LA108 also makes it an ideal choice for front fills on a stage. The LA112 gives us the output and scalability needed for larger audiences, outdoor events, and full-scale productions. The dual compression drivers on these enable them to throw incredibly far!
Do you have any “favorite features” in your QSC products?
The built-in DSP and onboard delay capabilities in the K.2 Series, CB10 and KC12 are huge for us. Being able to quickly deploy and time-align systems without additional processing allows us to scale efficiently and adapt to any environment.
The QSC RapidDeploy system for connecting L Class boxes in addition to the one-touch optimization has been invaluable. It significantly speeds up setup and ensures consistency, which is critical when you’re working on tight timelines. And no special tools needed!

What would you say are the key ingredients to producing a successful event?
In our experience, successful events come down to preparation, communication, a great team, and quality reliable gear. Years of live event experience doesn’t hurt either.
In ever changing event environments we need gear that is flexible, scalable, and dependable. This allows our team to focus on execution rather than troubleshooting. Beyond that, it’s about understanding the client’s vision and translating it into a cohesive experience.
QSC gear gives us the flexibility and quality that lets us focus on the production itself, and the client experience.
What advice would you give other production companies that you have learned?
Invest in gear that gives you flexibility and consistency. Self-powered loudspeakers with fast set up, smart DSP and great sonic performance like our QSC’s, allow you to move faster, scale more easily, and adapt to a wide range of event types without overcomplicating your infrastructure.
Also, don’t underestimate the importance of simplicity. The more streamlined and reliable your system is, the more time and energy you can spend on what actually matters – serving your client and delivering a great show.
