The simplest way to implement this is to daisy-chain a number of active loudspeakers together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>QSC active loudspeakers feature two different kinds of outputs. First, <strong>QSC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qsc.com\/live-sound\/products\/loudspeakers\/powered-loudspeakers\/qsc-k2-seriestm-new\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">K.2<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qsc.com\/live-sound\/products\/loudspeakers\/powered-loudspeakers\/kw-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">KW<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qsc.com\/live-sound\/products\/loudspeakers\/active-line-array-loudspeakers\/kla-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">KLA<\/a> Series<\/strong> feature \u201cThru\u201d or parallel Outputs.&nbsp; These are always the closest to the Inputs and are labelled with a single arrow between Input and Output. These line-level outputs are hard-wired to their respective inputs. Simply put, they are identical copies of their respective inputs, therefore are unaffected by any gain adjustments made to the loudspeaker. We refer to this as Pre-Gain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: the KLA Series has a single output and although simply labelled \u201cLine Out\u201d, it is in fact a Pre-Gain \u201cThru\u201d Output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second type of outputs are called \u201cMix\u201d Output (or \u201cLine Out\/Post Gain\u201d on the older K &amp; KW models). This line level output produces a post-gain mix of all the input channels (A, B and C). Any adjustments made to the gain of any of the three channels affect this Mix Out signal, which is still free from any DSP processing. <strong>QSC K.2, KW and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qsc.com\/live-sound\/products\/loudspeakers\/powered-loudspeakers\/cp-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CP<\/a><\/strong> Series feature this Mix Output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So let\u2019s have a look at how many active loudspeakers you can safely daisy-chain, whilst keeping an uncompromised audio quality:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Thru Outputs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A very large amount of loudspeakers can be daisy-chained using the Pre-Gain \u201cThru\u201d Output. Eventually \u2013 after many tens of units \u2013 some line-level signal loss will occur, depending on the length of the cable run. Note: the CP Series does not feature a \u201cThru\u201d Output, but only a \u201cMix\u201d Output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"343\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.qsc.com\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/09\/TC1_Picture-1-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2520\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.qsc.com\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/09\/TC1_Picture-1-1.png 343w, https:\/\/blogs.qsc.com\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/09\/TC1_Picture-1-1-172x300.png 172w, https:\/\/blogs.qsc.com\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/09\/TC1_Picture-1-1-250x437.png 250w, https:\/\/blogs.qsc.com\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/09\/TC1_Picture-1-1-103x180.png 103w, https:\/\/blogs.qsc.com\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/09\/TC1_Picture-1-1-286x500.png 286w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 343px) 100vw, 343px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mix Output<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With any Post-gain Mix Output, there is always some small noise added due to the signal running through the gain circuitry and this noise will grow with every additional loudspeaker that is daisy-chained. It is recommended to daisy-chain no more than four (4) units using their Mix Output.
