Marelle performs several times a week at weddings, private events, and corporate gatherings, as well as styled shoots and special community events. Couples often rely on her to curate their wedding ceremony and cocktail hour music, while corporate clients invite her to create a relaxed, elevated atmosphere for dinners, parties, and networking events. No matter the occasion, Marelle loves collaborating with her clients to create a special vibe that is personal and memorable.
We recently caught up with Marelle to ask her a few questions about gigging and her QSC gear.
What QSC products do you use and why?
No matter the event, I always run my instruments and vocals through the TouchMix-8 because it allows me to dial in the sound with presets, EQ, and effects so everything comes through clean and balanced without needing to lug around extra gear. For smaller events, I bring my KC12, and thanks to its ultra-wide coverage I don’t even need a separate monitor. For larger events, I set up two K10.2 speakers to cover the space evenly along with a CP8 as my monitor so I can hear myself clearly while keeping the mix sounding great for guests.
Do you have any gigging tips you can share with other musicians?
One of my biggest tips is to take advantage of the recording feature on the QSC TouchMix. It has basically become my portable multitrack recording system as well as my mixer, which has been a game changer. You can record everything either as one mixed track or as separate stems. I usually go with stems, since it lets me bring the files into a DAW later and mix them exactly how I want. It’s an easy way to capture your live sets and level up your content!
